Giftedness (IQ) Evaluations for Children

At OpenWorld Psychology, we provide specialized evaluations to assess cognitive strengths, learning styles, and intellectual giftedness in children. Our evaluations are designed to offer clear, supportive information for education planning, enrichment programs, or simply better understanding your child's unique potential. Check out our team or schedule a consultation. Download our guide for families here.

Why Families Seek a Giftedness Evaluation:

  • To explore eligibility for gifted and talented programs

  • To better understand learning strengths and cognitive profiles

  • To support individualized educational planning

  • To receive recommendations for enrichment opportunities

  • To gain insight into how your child thinks, solves problems, and processes information

The Evaluation Includes:

  • In-Person Testing: Cognitive testing session using gold-standard measures

  • Written Psychological Report: Detailed summary of results and personalized recommendations

  • Feedback Session: A meeting to review findings, answer questions, and plan next steps

If you need an IQ test for school admissions, we are offering discounted rates on our IQ clinic days! Your evaluation will be done by one of our doctoral students supervised by Dr. Beard in our Santa Clara. Check out our team here! We’ve coordinated with several schools, including The Nueva School, Helios School, and The Harker School to support evaluations by our doctoral students in our clinic. If you have any additional questions, reach out to those admissions teams and they can provide more information.

What does the evaluation look like?

You will fill out our online paperwork that asks questions about your child’s background. Then, your child will meet with one of our providers 1-1 for 1.5-2 hours in-person in one of our clinics. We’ll provide a report in 1-2 weeks with a summary of scores, interpretation, and recommendations. Finally, meet with your assessor for a 30-minute feedback session to answer any questions about the findings!
