Insurance and Billing

At OpenWorld Psychology, we partner with Spring Health and Lyra Health Employee Assistance Programs (EAPs). We also accept ComPsych insurance for evaluations only.

For all other services, we are an out-of-network provider and do not bill insurance directly.
We do not contact insurance companies on your behalf.

We offer the option for clients to receive a superbill after an evaluation is completed.
A superbill is a detailed receipt that includes the services provided, diagnosis information (if applicable), and provider credentials.
You may submit a superbill to your insurance company to seek partial reimbursement.

Please note:

  • A superbill is provided as a courtesy and does not guarantee reimbursement.

  • All communication with your insurance provider is your responsibility.

  • Services provided by trainees may not be eligible for reimbursement. If you are considering submitting for reimbursement, we recommend checking with your insurance company in advance.

Why We Follow This Model

We have intentionally chosen to remain largely out-of-network with insurance companies to support the sustainability, quality, and integrity of our practice.
Working directly with insurance companies often requires significant administrative time, added billing complexities, and external influence on clinical care — such as limitations on the number of sessions, restrictions on services, or requirements for specific diagnoses that may not align with your needs.

By focusing our resources directly on patient care rather than insurance administration, we are able to:

  • Protect your privacy by minimizing the amount of personal information shared with third parties.

  • Provide more individualized, evidence-based care without insurance company mandates.

  • Invest in training, supervision, and innovation to continually enhance our services.

  • Offer longer appointment times and a wider range of services, including specialized assessments and multidisciplinary options.

This model also enables us to support early-career professionals (such as trainees under supervision) and ensure long-term sustainability so that we can continue to serve the community thoughtfully and effectively.

We appreciate your understanding and partnership in this approach.
